Charity Support

Swindon’s Bus Company names Brighter Futures as corporate charity for 2026 and 2027

Swindon’s Bus Company is throwing its support behind Brighter Futures - the charity for Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - by naming it as our official good cause for 2026 and 2027.

We will spend the next two years raising funds and awareness to help the charity provide a wide range of services for patients and their families.

Brighter Futures enables Great Western Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to realise patient benefit much sooner - by enhancing the environment for patients and staff in which health services can be delivered. It also helps carers and those caring for patients to benefit from education and facilities not normally available available within NHS funding, and provides extra equipment and staffing to the Trust.

“Brighter Futures raises money to create the best possible experience for patients and their families by funding extra care and equipment over and above that provided by the NHS,” said Andrew Sherrington, general manager of Swindon’s Bus Company.

“With many of our staff benefiting directly from the support it provides, my colleagues have voted for Brighter Futures, and I’m delighted we will be raising as much money as possible for this vital resource.”

We have a busy calendar of fundraising planned, and will be promoting Brighter Futures on the rear of a bus.

“Hopefully, the messages will be seen by thousands traveling across the region - and this will help increase awareness for this very worthy cause,” added Andrew.

Colby Cain, community and events fundraising manager at Brighter Futures, added: ”Brighter Futures are honoured to be Swindon's Bus Company's charity for the next two years. This is an exciting opportunity for us and this partnership will make a real difference for patients, families, and staff at the Great Western Hospital. We look forward to working with Swindon’s Bus Company through their fundraising which will help us fund vital equipment, enhance hospital environments and fund projects that support great care.”
