What started out as the feeder reservoir for the Wilts and Berks canal in the nineteenth century, Coate Water Country Park has quickly become one of Swindon's most attractive locations, and here's why...
Situated 5 kilometers southeast of Swindon, Coate Water is a Local Nature Reserve, that is open to the general public, all year round, 24 hours a day! At the very heart of the park is Coate Waters famous lake, which was once a leisure destination for many until 1958, is now a place where ducks and swans enjoy a swim. Some of the exciting features at Coate Water include; bird hides, pitch and putt, splash park, play area, mini golf, miniature railway, a cafe and opportunities for BBQ hire, making is a great place for either a family day out, or just a fun day with friends! Dog walkers are also welcome to come and enjoy the beautiful views around the park, however there are restrictions that apply to the nature reserve, children's play area, splash park, and golf course.
