Swindon Stories

Here at Swindon Bus we are proud to have a great team of employees who enjoy raising awareness and digging deep for charity! Our community fund is a dedicated resource for supporting local causes, charities and organisations.

We're thrilled that the latest donation of £500 has been awarded to the National Literacy Trust.

The National Literacy Trust are an independent charity working with schools and communities to give disadvantaged children the literacy skills to succeed in life. They target their work where they can have the greatest impact. To date, the National Literacy Trust has established 12 Literacy Hubs and campaigns in towns, cities and regions where poverty and low levels of literacy are seriously impacting people’s lives.

One of the Literacy Hubs, Swindon Stories, is a campaign to boost literacy levels in Swindon, thanks to a partnership between the National Literacy Trust and Swindon Borough Council.

Anish Harrison, Swindon National Literacy Trust Hub Manager commented, “It is a real honour to be awarded this money, which will make a real difference to the lives of families in Swindon. The money will support our exciting event in partnership with Swindon Buses, where we will be giving children and their families the gift of reading this Christmas.”
