Our latest Community Fund Winner - St Catherine's Primary School
6 months ago

A project, designed to provide safe and healthy learning opportunities for local schoolchildren, has received a boost from our Community Fund.
The Friends of St Catherine’s Primary School in Davenwood applied for our fund to help an initiative which promotes physical activity, wellbeing, confidence and social skills.
“Sadly, funding cuts have made it difficult to provide our children with play equipment - meaning playtimes are far less enjoyable than we would like them to be,” said Alex Ford, chair of The Friends of St Catherine’s Primary School.
“This donation will benefit more than 200 young people in the Swindon community - allowing them to have fun and play, form new friendships and develop their social and motor skills whilst playing.
“By investing in local children and education, Swindon’s Bus Company is supporting stronger communities, healthier lifestyles, and positive outcomes for young people who live and learn in the areas it serves.”
Andrew Sherrington, Swindon’s Bus Company general manager, added: “This is an incredibly worthy cause, and an important local resource.
“We are always keen to build strong relationships with those living within the areas in which we operate.
“Helping the pupils at St Catherine’s Primary School enjoy their playtimes - with the opportunity to make friends and learn new skills - is an absolute pleasure.”
