Well done to our latest Community Fund winner - Wiltshire Search & Rescue

Swindon’s Bus Company is throwing its support behind Wiltshire Search and Rescue - with a donation from our latest community fund allocation.

Wiltshire Search and Rescue volunteers make themselves available 24 hours a day and 365 days a year - supporting Wiltshire Police and other agencies in searches for high risk, vulnerable, missing persons across the county.

Our team is delighted to donate £500 from our community fund - which is open for applications during June and December each year.

It’s a pleasure supporting Wiltshire Search and Rescue. As a fully established part of the community, we’re delighted to be able to help this vital local resource.

Wiltshire Search and Rescue is a voluntary organisation, deployed at the request of the emergency services control room. Their primary aim is to locate high-risk, vulnerable, individuals and return them to a place of safety.

They are self-sufficient, in that they deploy the resources to search but also manage the incident - using qualified incident managers - and have a wide range of equipment and specialist capabilities, such as water rescue.
